Grip Studios is a leading game development studio based in the Czech Republic, with offices in Prague, Brno, and Bratislava. We develop and co-develop AAA and AA titles across all platforms and technologies, including projects such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, Civilization VII, Mafia the Old Country, TopSpin 2K25, and over 50 other shipped games across all platforms.

We operate in a multi-project, multi-office environment with strong technical autonomy and a growing focus on platform excellence and AI-enabled pipelines.

Role Overview: 👀

We are looking for an IT Lead to own and evolve the core infrastructure and workplace IT foundations of the studio. This role is not a classic helpdesk manager.

You will be responsible for:

  • On-Prem infrastructure
  • Office and endpoint operations
  • SaaS administration
  • Identity and access management
  • License management
  • Close collaboration with DevOps and Production.

You will act as a technical and operational counterpart to our DevOps leadership and Head of Infrastructure, with the main focus placed on enabling and accelerating our project teams.

Key Responsibilities: 🤝

Infrastructure & Workplace

  • Own and evolve on-prem server infrastructure (virtualization, storage, backups, monitoring).
  • Own office IT across multiple locations (networking, connectivity, meeting rooms, hardware).
  • Own endpoint management (workstations, licenses, devkits, imaging, lifecycle).
  • Ensure reliable VPN, RDP, and identity foundations for hybrid and remote work.
  • Maintain a clear inventory of servers, services, hardware, and critical dependencies.

SaaS & Identity

  • Own administration of core SaaS tools (Google Workspace, Jira, YouTrack, Confluence, Slack, Figma, etc.).
  • Design and maintain onboarding/offboarding workflows.
  • Own service management and helpdesk systems.

Leadership

  • Lead and mentor the IT staff.
  • Act as an escalation point during crises.
  • Promote good communication practices between team members.

Planning

  • Participate in roadmap and budget planning for the Infrastructure department.
  • Own vendor relationships.
  • Participate in incident reviews, risk assessments, and post-mortems.
  • Help define and communicate service expectations.

Must Have: 💻

  • 4+ years of hands-on experience in infrastructure.
  • Proven leadership experience (technical lead, team lead, or similar).
  • Previous IT administration and/or system administration experience.
  • Solid understanding of IT security fundamentals.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Czech.
  • Ability to balance both operational work and planned work.
  • Strong both as a "starter" and "finisher" of initiatives.

Nice to have 🔝

  • Experience in game development studios or other creative environments.
  • Experience with identity and endpoint management platforms.
  • Familiarity with ISO 27001 / security audits.
  • ITIL knowledge (pragmatic, not dogmatic).
  • Experience managing external IT vendors or service providers.
  • Interest in AI-enabled tooling and pipelines.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field is a plus

What We Offer: 🚀

  • Work on high-profile AAA and AA game projects.
  • Real influence over studio-wide infrastructure and developer productivity.
  • Collaboration with senior engineering, DevOps, and production leadership.
  • Flexible working hours and hybrid work options.
  • Generous leave policy with no hard limits.
  • A supportive, mature company culture that values collaboration, ownership, and pragmatic creativity.
